DJ Eurok aka Peace Justice UPSET THE SETUP is a DC based DJ/producer and hip hop artist. Known for his party rocking DJ sets, Eurok has been tearing up dancefloors around town for the past decade with an analog blend of hip hop, funk and soul, reggae, remixes and latin grooves.

A fixture in the DC music scene, Eurok has been a guest and resident DJ as well as featured performer at a number of venues and events including The 9:30 Club, The Black Cat, Local 16, The Velvet Lounge, and Reunion Thursdays. In 2004 he was nominated by the Washington Area Music Association for both the Electronica and the Hip Hop DJ of the Year awards ­ the first dual genre DJ of the year nomination in WAMA history.

An artist with global aspirations, Eurok was a selected participant at the 2004 Red Bull Music Academy in Roma, Italy. He has performed in Europe and Latin America and his self produced original releases have received radio play on globally recognized stations including NPR (USA), Radio 1xtra (UK), Triple J (Australia) and NRK (Norway.)

Felicia Snoop Pearson: Grace After Midnight

In December, I got a random Myspace message from a local video producer who wanted to use a track from my 2003 album Self Realization for a piece he was working on. Felicia Pearson (Snoop from HBO’s the Wire) had written a memoir (Grace After Midnight) and the publisher wanted a promo video to use online for the book. I linked up with the producer, he showed me the piece, we signed some papers, and here it is.

When Nathan approached me, I had never seen an episode of the Wire and I’ve furiously catching up since…
